"Prohibition goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation and makes crimes out of things that are not crimes. A prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded." Lincoln
Anyway, no drug, not even alcohol, causes the fundamental ills of society. If we're looking for the source of our troubles, we shouldn't test people for drugs, we should test them for stupidity, ignorance, greed and love of power. ~P.J. O'Rourke

Cannabis has been used for thousands of years to produce products like paper, textiles, oil, rope, and canvas. In fact, the name canvas is derived from the Arabic word meaning cannabis.
Marijuana grown for industrial use is very low in THC (the psychoactive chemical in marijuana), thus making industrial hemp useless as a drug. Although cannabis is mostly known as a recreational drug, cannabis also has many medicinal uses.
During the 1930s, the American media propagated numerous false stories depicting cannabis as an extremely dangerous drug. Because these lies went unchallenged, marijuana and hemp were effectively banned in 1938.
Recently, hemp has been rediscovered as a natural resource that has great economic and environmental potential. Marijuana for medicinal use is also gaining renewed recognition.
The Internet plays an essential role in educating the general public about the medicinal marijuana and industrial hemp uses for cannabis in our society in order to restore cannabis cultivation and end unwarranted cannabis prohibition.
